Will it fit my phone/car?
Detailed Description
One hand on the door. One hand on a coffee. No hands for the phone.
You know the routine. Get in, shut the door, then spend twenty seconds fighting a stiff phone clamp open with one hand while the other holds the phone you're trying to put in it.
Then you go looking for the cable. Then the cable's in the footwell. Then you pull away with the phone in your lap because it wasn't worth the hassle.
Every one of those seconds is a second you weren't looking at the road.
It opens before you get there.
Move your hand towards it and the arms open on their own. Set your phone down and they close around it — smoothly, not snapping shut like a mousetrap.
Then it starts charging. Reach for it on the way out and the arms let go again.
It charges without you plugging anything in
Here's how it works, because it's a bit different.
A small adapter pushes into your phone's charging port and stays there. When you put the phone in the holder, that adapter meets a connector at the bottom and charging starts on its own. Nothing to plug in, nothing to find in the dark.
Three adapters are in the box, so it fits older iPhones, newer iPhones, and Android phones alike.
And this is the bit that matters. Because it charges from the bottom rather than through the back, the usual problems disappear:
- Thick case? Doesn't matter.
- PopSocket or metal ring on the back? Doesn't matter.
- Older phone that can't charge without a cable? Works fine.
Most charging holders quietly leave out half the phones on the road. This one doesn't.
One honest thing to know: the adapter lives in your phone's charging port. It's tiny and it stays put, but you'll need to pull it out to use a normal cable or wired headphones. Most people leave it in and charge overnight on a different cable at home. If you're plugging and unplugging your phone all day, this'll annoy you — better to know now.
Built to stay put
The vent clip hooks behind the vent blade rather than pinching the front edge, with soft pads so it doesn't mark your trim. It won't sag or drop off on a rough road.
Spin it to any angle — upright for maps, sideways for anything else. It holds where you put it.
The arms are motor-driven and geared, so they're quiet and they close firmly without squeezing your phone's buttons.
It plugs into a car charger with the cable supplied. Any charger will run it; a fast-charging one will fill your phone quicker.
Your car already says something. This is the part that makes it easier to live with.
Backed by a 6-month CARVRE warranty.
